Blackwell Case Postponed

altHARTWELL - The trial of Jimmy Lee Blackwell has been postponed. 54-year-old Blackwell is now blind in one eye after he had a run in with a Hartwell police officer the morning of February 16th, 2009.

His trial was set to begin today after the jury selection phase. However, Judge John Bailey says the jury had to be canceled Monday evening because too many jurors had already formed an opinion on Blackwell's innocence or guilt.

Blackwell's attorney, Victor Long, is expected to submit a motion to change venue in the next few days.
